The Problem: An office space with a rocket ship. The problem isn’t budget, although tight cost controls will be required. The problem isn’t energy, even though exemplary power savings will be achieved. The problem isn’t even maintenance—it will be minimized. The Concept: The topic is lighting, pure and simple. A free-form object, the SS-1 rocket, must be perfectly lit with no spill and no glare, for “value” cost, with minimal maintenance, and no exemption from Title 24 energy code. The Execution: The lighting scheme is formulated using LED theatrical ellipsoidal spotlights for the SS-1, and high-CRI T5 cyclorama border lights drawn from standard commercial lighting, not studio sources.
