A music rights organization locating into a new office building in Nashville, and wishing to integrate musical performance and work spaces. Not just one, but throughout the 40ksf, 2-story space. Acoustics and lighting must work in concert. The Concept: Open up the architectural vocabulary to cut slab opening and integrate lighting to reflect both flexibility and musical sensibility. Make the fully dimmable system long-lived and readily maintainable throughout the varied spaces. The Execution: The lighting plans reinforce the concept of counterpoint, rhythm, and harmony. The individual pieces have varied shape and texture, but fit neatly together, and subtly recall keyboards and musical notation.
