reframe
studios

Reframe Studios, is an adaptive reuse project set to meet the growing demand for studio space from media and production companies. Originally an industrial site, the Wolcott team redeveloped it into state-of-the-art film studios. The project includes two 20,000 SF (40,000 SF total) movie sound stages, office, and mill spaces in a gated environment. Beyond the sound stages are the two levels of production support that includes a mill shop, wardrobe, dressing room, hair & makeup, along with a rooftop penthouse that overlooks the gorgeous Griffith Park. Coming later 2024.

The two 20,000 SF sound stages at Reframe Studios provide ample space for complex scenes, supported by a steel truss system and 33í unobstructed heights for flexible setups. Advanced HVAC and substantial power capacity meet demanding technical needs, while comprehensive acoustic upgrades, including STC-rated doors, acoustical walls, reinforced roofing, sound locks, and Insul-Quilt wrapping, improve sound isolation and quality. This enables filmmakers to capture pristine audio, reducing post-production work and enhancing overall production value. Reframe Studios thus supports efficient, high-quality film production, streamlining the process and enabling superior cinematic experiences.

reusing &
renewing

The redesigned main lobby, flooded with natural light through a new curtain wall system, features a stunning spatial staircase and seamless indoor-outdoor spaces with curated seating, perfect for collaboration. Honoring its industrial heritage, we've preserved and expressed exposed steel structures to respect the building's original context, while adding a rooftop penthouse and a gradient paint scheme to articulate the building's massing. Sustainable elements, such as a new rainwater management system, further enhance this inspiring space for filmmakers and entrepreneurs alike.
