The Process: OSS Medical
Our project with OSS Medical brought exciting challenges with their imaging rooms. The MRI machine room required full radio frequency shielding. This essential safety measure not only protects those nearby but also ensures the accuracy and precision of their imaging results. Beneath the surface of all the walls, floor, and ceiling in the MRI room lies a layer of copper cladding that effectively blocks interference. For reinforcement of the imaging floor slab we used Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP). This method provides the necessary structural support without the need for a new steel beam, streamlining the construction process and minimizing disruptions. It also preserves the existing parking garage’s ceiling height, avoiding any clashes with pipes and ducts, and ensuring a seamless integration of new and existing structures.
